Jaspers' Boundary Situations

 The way Jaspers looks at it, all of us are always in a situation. Perhaps life is one damn situation after another.

Some situations are designated as 'boundary situations': death, suffering, struggle, guilt, chance.

Maybe existentialism is the key

It's around sixty years since I first heard of existentialism when I listened to a series of perhaps three talks on the ABC and wrote and asked for a transcript. Then I bought H.J. Blackham's Six Existentialist Thinkers . It's now in old age that I have the leisure to see what it's value might still be.
